JustOT are working with a specialist neurological care and neuro-rehabilitation for people with physical illnesses, restricted mobility and difficult and diverse behaviours because of progressive or acquired neurological conditions.
Occupational Therapist Band 6 South East London
Band 6 Equivalent
Full-Time (30 Hours per week)
Salary £25,008 to £33,497
The purpose of the role is to engage with the service-user (client) base - predominantly adult residents (aged 18 to 65) with Acquired Brain Injury and / or a history of substance misuse. By working alongside service users, members of the Therapy and Social work Teams including Rehab Coaches (NRC), and other staff. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the Occupational Therapy Service within this specialist setting.
Main Job Responsibilities:
*Offer a point of reference to colleagues.
*Maximise functional ability, increase independence and quality of life
*Contribute to initial assessment and undertake occupational assessments with service users
*Plan and maintain therapeutic interventions that enhance the wellbeing and/or rehabilitation of the clients which meet agreed goals. This may include developing, handing over and reviewing support plans and guidelines.
*Provide training/instruction to clients and co-workers to enable the clients to achieve maximum functional independence
*Advise on equipment and environmental modifications or adaptations to assist daily living
*Maintain accurate and concise case records and produce reports as necessary to support clients' progress against pre-determined outcomes and make recommendations on modified service provision or referral to other agencies
*Engage with the external agencies and Local Authority Departments as appropriate to the job
*To contribute to the development of the Service as appropriate
*Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of medical conditions and treatment, disability issues, legislation and departmental policies and practices and to liaise with colleagues and Service Managers regarding modifications in practice which may be required as a result the aforementioned
The ideal candidate will have:
*Occupational Therapy Degree and a HCPC Registration
*Up to date CPD Portfolio
*Experience in Neuro-rehabilitation
*Experience in working with patients with physical and mental health conditions
