Community Paediatric OT - Sensory Integration Essential

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE    

* Must have completed Sensory Integration Level 2 as a minimum *  

Remit    

Compass Associates is proud to be working with a specialist provider of community paediatric Occupational Therapy, to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist to work on a full-time permanent basis.  

This role involves directly working with children from birth to 24 years old who have a range of complex needs and conditions including Autism, learning disabilities, sensory processing disorders, Cerebral Palsy and backgrounds of trauma, attachment disorders or brain injuries due to road traffic accidents. You can be based from your own home or the North West clinic located near Warrington, and visit children in their own home, at school or in other community settings. You will hold your own caseload and carry out comprehensive initial, continuing and Sensory Integration assessments, deliver individualised therapy and provide specialist recommendations to teachers, parents and external professionals regarding equipment, technology, environmental controls and whether any home, school or community modifications may be beneficial.    

Although working independently, you would be part of a wider Occupational Therapy team and have regular team meetings, clinical supervision and further training. There are also excellent career progression opportunities where you can develop your specialist knowledge and skills whilst working towards Advanced Practitioner level.    

As this is a community-based role, the postholder will visit children in the following locations: Liverpool, Merseyside, Cheshire, Chester, Manchester and surrounding towns.

The Candidate    

The ideal candidate must have:

A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy

HCPC registration

UK driving licence and own car

Previous paediatric experience (essential)

Experience with trauma and attachment (essential)

Sensory integration training (Level 2 minimum is essential)

Informal phonecall following by a MS Teams interview. A face to face meeting would be preferable but subject to COVID guidelines.
