Job Description
The Pathology Service at the Montefiore hospital is recruiting for a part time Biomedical Scientist to join their close-knit team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge in Haemotology and Biochemistry and be registered with the HCPC. Our laboratory is accredited by UKAS and has the Roche Cobas Biochemistry, Stago Start 4 and Horiba/Yumizen Haematology analysers
***This is a part-time position working 2 days per week between 8am and 6pm including some Saturdays. On call provision may be required
The Montefiore Hospital is rated "Outstanding" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We practice some of the most advanced treatments on the latest generation imaging, and diagnostic technology. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, cardiology and general surgery all delivered through our expert and caring clinical team. The hospital is well positioned to maximise the excellent local public transport. There are buses that stop in the vicinity and is also walking distance of both Hove and Brighton train station
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, analyse, assess and report pathology investigations
- Analyse, interpret and report information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts
- Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens, blood and tissues
- Plan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for measuring and monitoring pathology investigations
Who we're looking for:
- Must hold a degree in Biomedical Sciences and have significant experience within Blood Sciences
- Have current HCPC registration
