Job Description

Applications are invited for an Associate Specialist in Psychiatry to join the Older Adult team on the beautiful island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
This role is a 10-session full-time post with a 1:6 first on-call rota into which a day off during the week may be negotiated for an additional two sessions.
In addition to the higher than UK salary and taxation advantages, a generous relocation and accommodation package is available to successful applicants.

The Older Adult Service Team is an MDT comprising: A Consultant Psychiatrist,Two Associate Psychiatrists, Support from the community OT,Palliative care team, Geriatrician support, Dietitian and Activities co-ordinator.
The Service has a four in-patient centres; including an assessment ward through to the later stages of an individual's experience of dementia, as well as Community Day Services. There is a dedicated Older Adult Community Nursing team.
Guernsey has recently launched their Island-wide Dementia Framework; striving to make the island Dementia Friendly so that their older population feel valued and are treated with dignity and respect.

Annual leave is a minimum of 30 days and The States of Guernsey will honour continuous service from the NHS or a UK local or public authority for the provision of annual leave and sick leave and offer a generous annual leave quota with nine bank holidays.
There is also 10 days study leave per year and up to £4,000 study budget.
There is also the possibility of transferring your pension into the compulsory States of Guernsey Pension Scheme.

Person requirements:
To hold full GMC Registration
A minimum of three years experience in Adult Psychiatry
Two years current or recent Speciality Doctor/Associate level experience in an appropriate Older Adult setting.
Section 12 approval is an advantage but not essential.
Willingness to participate in the on-call rota
