Spire Manchester is looking for a Biomedical Scientist (BMS) to Lead Microbiology and Virology section. The laboratory provides the pathology service to Spire Manchester Hospital and also serves as a Hub Laboratory for the Spire Healthcare Hospitals from the Midlands to the North of the UK.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful Biomedical Scientist will be expected to work within the microbiology and virology section of a multidiscipline laboratory. You will plan, analyse, assess and report pathology investigations, ensuring the pathology service are provided in an accurate, efficient and cost effective manner. The pathology department offers extensive in-house training and continual professional development opportunities. We are passionate about developing our staff in order for them to fulfil their potential.

Who we're looking for
  • HCPC Registered with laboratory experience in Microbiology and virology
  • Previous experience of leadership or deputising a team is desirable.
  • Communication/organised/role model/showcase excellent patient care etc.
