Job Description

Clinical Pharmacist | Pharmacy | Edinburgh | Equivalent to Band 6/7 D.O.E | Full Time

Spire Edinburgh has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our team friendly and supportive team. This is a busy and varied role where the successful candidate will work across both of our Edinburgh site.

Murrayfield hospital was established as a purpose built hospital in 1984, conveniently located in the west of Edinburgh. In 2015 our consulting rooms had a £1 million refurbishment. In 2010 we opened Shawfair Park Hospital, a day case facility, based in south east Edinburgh. Each of our hospitals practice some of the most advanced treatments supported by the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading edge surgical procedures and cancer care.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • To provide an exemplary pharmacy service in accordance with current legislation
  • To provide advice and support to consultants, other clinicians and patients ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines.
  • To advise the hospital and its departments on the safe management of medicines, ensuring compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
  • To promote a multidisciplinary, patient focused approach to the delivery of an efficient, high quality healthcare service.

Who we're looking for:
  • Be GPHC registered - your registration should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Post qualification experience, ideally within a hospital environment however this is not essential
  • Enthusiastic with excellent communication skills
