The facility has very advanced technology on site including a dedicated cancer centre, a rapid access breast clinic, MRI and CT scanning technology and an onsite pharmacy for faster access to treatment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced nurse to join a multi-disciplined support team to provide specialist cancer care to patients in a state-of-the-art facility. You will work alongside a fantastic team including physiotherapists, dieticians, chaplains, clinical psychologists, and other specialist nurses to play a key role in achieving the best possible patient outcome.

The centre provides care in both oncology and haematology and covers most tumour sites with the exception of complex cases such as acute mild leukaemia.

The Role

As a Staff Nurse working on the cancer inpatient ward, you will be responsible for providing pre and post-operative transplant care to patients, administering SACT and providing general holistic care to patients. The ward has a total of 6 in-patient beds and all patients will be complex and will require around the clock care to the shift patterns work on an internal rotation covering both days, nights and weekends.

You will work closely with other trained Chemotherapy Nurses to deliver the best outcome for all patients. You'll be the first point of contact for family and friends ensuring they are fully briefed on their loved one's care plan and ensuring that the patient is comfortable.

You don't need to be trained in SACT though you will need to have previous experience working within oncology / haematology and have a keen interest in this area.
