Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge in an environment where no two days are the same?

Patient care is at the centre of what we do and we are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and committed nurse who wants to make a difference to our patient’s lives.
We're looking for a Paramedic to join our healthcare team, working 24 hours per week. The salary for this role is £38,000 FTE per annum - pro-rata for part-time hours.

Make a difference from day one!

Prisons are challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.

We are the market leader, providing care to over 30,000 patients in over 40 prisons across the country. Our core values are; everyone makes a difference, patients are at the heart of everything we do and together we make things better.

If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!

What can we offer you?

We’re looking for an innovative Paramedic, who thrives on a challenge to provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting - performing procedures such as suturing, IV access, haemorrhage control, wound care and cardiac & CVA intervention.

You’ll be playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care, working as part of a team of primary care nurses, delivering care to patients both within the healthcare centre and on the Wings. With the ability to think on your feet and a flexible attitude, you’ll be a qualified paramedic with current HCPC registration. Capable of demonstrating initiative, you’ll have proven post-registration experience in any of these following clinical areas: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments, Minor Injuries / Illness Units.

You will also be working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, alongside the substance misuse and mental health teams. There are great opportunities for training and development and the opportunity to work with interesting patients and learn new skills.
