Job Description

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC), is one of the UK’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals with a turnover of nearly £1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 12,600 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London and Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley, Orpington Hospital, and some services at Beckenham Beacon and Queen Mary’s Sidcup.

The Trust is recognised internationally for its work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac, haemato-oncology, fetal medicine, stroke, major trauma, and Emergency Department.

King’s Occupational Therapy department is set within a multi-therapy suite working alongside Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. With over 100 members in the OT department, we have a sound professional structure with a Lead Occupational Therapist and a range of clinical specialists, many of who are leaders in their field. This ensures a good system for the delivery of clinical governance objectives, CPD and EBP.

King’s College Hospital Rotation schemes offer excellent opportunities for developing clinical skills. You will automatically access excellent clinical supervision from experienced Occupational Therapists across a range of neuro-specialities.

We are looking for a Band 6 Neuro Occupational Therapist. Band 6 posts have the opportunity to access funds for external training and also the internal resources of the department provide ample opportunity for increasing clinical skills and knowledge. Rotational Band 6 has regular cross department meetings as part of peer review and networking.

You must have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered. The post holder should have post graduate experience treating patients in an acute setting. The post holder requires a flexible approach to working, including cross sites and be able to undertake weekend working commitments as part of seven day working rotas if required.
