Band 6 Paediatric Radiographer

This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your clinical skills in one of the leading dedicated paediatric hospitals in the country. The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children is one of four dedicated paediatric major trauma sites and specialist centre for paediatrics for the South West.

You will gain in-depth knowledge of paediatric radiography in a range of disciplines supporting specialist areas such as spinal-surgery, neurosurgery, cardiac and specialist orthopaedics. You will be fully supported by a well-established in-house training programme as recognised in a recent departmental CQC review.

The radiology department is equipped with state of the art digital x-ray, fluoroscopy. Band 6 radiographers rotate through the paediatric CT unit, which is equipped with an Aquillion One Toshiba CT scanner. You will gain experience in paediatric cardiac CT and 4D CT.

The paediatric radiography team is a young and dynamic team, and extensive training in paediatric radiography techniques will be provided. The department is committed to CPD.

All applicants must hold the DCR(R) or BSc in Radiography and be HPC registered. NHS experience is essential. Participation in the out of hours service will be expected. Please read the full job description and personal specification attached to this advert.

An interest in paediatrics is essential. CT or Cath Lab experience would be an advantage. Paediatric radiography experience is highly desirable.

The post will involve shift working through these areas and will include late, weekend and night working.
