Job Description

There has arisen the need, through internal promotion, a vacancy for an acting Band 6 Bio-Medical scientist in Microbiology.

Microbiology in Weston division of UHBW is a small team, comprising of 12 staff, processing approx. Apply clinical specimens a year, to support the Weston Hospital clinical staff and clinicians from the local community.

This post will be available for the period from May 2020, to 1st April 2021 in the first instance, subject to review. The Microbiology service delivery at Weston is due to undergo a service appraisal and potential re-organisation, in conjunction with PHE Microbiology Bristol, which may result in the transfer of some or all of the work currently undertaken as Weston being transferred to Bristol.

Staff will be transferred to PHE Microbiology Bristol under TUPE if appropriate, and this role will be included in this review.
