Pathology Blood Sciences is looking to recruit an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) to support Immunology Specimen Reception.
Working alongside the Biomedical Scientist Team, you will be required to support the day to day activities of Specimen Reception with a focus on workflow and staff coordination.
You will have the following capabilities/experience:
- Possess good communication and organisational skills.
- Have demonstrable experience in leading staff through team coordination and trouble shooting.
- Be fully competent in Specimen Reception procedures.
- Work as part of a team.
- Have a positive approach towards service development
Immunology Specimen Reception is responsible for handling a range of pre and post analytical services in the Clinical Immunology Laboratory. This includes but is not limited to sorting, quality assuring, booking and transporting patient samples for onward testing. It is a fast paced environment with a demand for accuracy and efficiency of data input. Further responsibilities include assisting the Biomedical Scientist Team in routine laboratory bench work under direct supervision.
You will be a responsible member of the MLA team, helping to coordinate day to day activities andmaintainingdelivery of a 12 hour, 6 days per week service, reinforcing and promoting the professional image of CUH Blood Sciences. To achieve this you will be supervised by a senior, working together withthe 4 other MLA team members tosupport the scientific staff group of around 30 members.
