Job Description

Applications are invited for Clinical Fellows in a combined post in Intensive Care and General Anaesthesia in the Department of Anaesthesia at University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol & Weston).

This role is an ideal opportunity for boosting your CV or as a stepping stone to the next step of your training program. You will be allocated an educational supervisor with regular meetings to tailor your developmental needs. This post includes on-call commitment on the trainee on-call rotas.

The ICU and General posts are allocated in 3-6 month modules through which the successful applicants will be rotated. Separate Job Descriptions for ICU and General Anaesthesia are available.

Clinical Fellows will be given the opportunity to attend all mandatory teaching, audit meetings and weekly departmental CPD meetings. There will be professional development opportunities ideal for applicants sitting higher exams or pursuing additional experience for their special interest. There is opportunity to be involved in audits, quality improvement projects, research and teaching including teaching at our associated Bristol Medical Simulation Centre.

This post requires Full registration with GMC. UK NHS experience or equivalent is desirable.

Primary FRCA or equivalent is essential for a junior role and possession of the FRCA or equivalent diploma for a senior role.

'This is a post for applicant with anaesthesia and intensive care medicine (ICM) experience at CT (or equivalent) level as the post rotates through general anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia and ICM. The post is ideal for applicants between CT and higher anaesthesia / ICM training. We welcome applicants who are currently in the process of applying for a training post in anaesthesia / ICM., if you do not have this required experience; other ICM Clinical Fellow posts are available - please see separate advert.'
