An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site, of Kings College Hospital, for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to lead the acute neuro rehabilitation team (ANR).

The ANR team provides Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients in at the PRUH. The physiotherapists and occupational therapists work very closely together in the ANR team. The ANR teams also support and develop the ward therapists in the medical, respiratory and orthopaedic teams in treating the neurological patients on their wards.

The team is a well-established and works well across the hospital with the relevant multi-disciplinary teams. It is a key team involved in supporting the treatment and management of complex neurological patients. The therapists are key in identifying patients who would benefit from further rehabilitation as in the community or in a rehabilitation unit.

The team have excellent links with the rehabilitation units at the Orpington Hospital site and are involved in monthly peer patients review. The training programme is run cross-site and involves 5 neurological physio teams.
This post would suit a candidate with proven clinical skills in the management of neurorehabilitation with acute and rehabilitation needs, who is keen to develop their leadership skills.

The successful candidate will have the support of the part time Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for Neurorehabilitation and the Deputy Head of Physiotherapy.

The successful candidate will have senior experience in neurological rehabilitation and be able to demonstrate advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills. They will have completed appropriate post graduate Neurology courses, have been involved in clinical audits/projects.

The successful candidate will be part of the respiratory weekend working at the Princess Royal University Hospital and be expected to participate in service development initiatives and MDT projects. With the Trust providing support for CPD activities and flexible working policies.
