This would suit a highly motivated, self-guided candidate, who is a recent graduate, or who expects to graduate this summer with a Bio-Medical sciences degree, or degree in another closely related subject.
The successful post holder will be supported through attainment of an IBMS eligible degree if required, thorough the completion of appropriate top-up modules, and completion of their registration portfolio.
The Microbiology department at Weston is undergoing a review as part of the merger with UHB creating the new UHBW Trust, and, as part of this, Microbiology service deliveryat Weston will change, with the likely transfer of some or all work to PHE Microbiology Bristol, based at NBT site.
The successful applicant will be expectedto undertake a commitment to work at Weston site until such time as the service re-configuration is undertaken, and, furthermore, to move work-base site from Weston to PHE Bristol, if required, as part of the service re-configuration.
Weston super Mare has grown to become one of the country's most popular seaside destinations, with a fabulous sandy beach, donkey rides and candy floss. The beach is complemented by lively bars, popular restaurants and of course, the famous pier, which was severely damaged by fire in July 2008 and re-opened to great acclaim in 2010.
Weston also has a number of new housing developments, an Ofsted 'outstanding' college with a number of sites including a University Campus. Weston truly has a family friendly culture making it a wonderful place to live and work.
The large, diverse cities of Bristol and Bath are only a short journey by car or train, and our convenient location just off Junction 21 of the M5 means the rest of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall are virtually on the doorstep.
