Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to work as a member of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service (SCPTS). The Service delivers psychological therapies Kent wide. We are a professional, enthusiastic Team comprising Clinical, Counselling, Assistant and Trainee Psychologists; Psychotherapists and a Highly Specialist Counsellor. We provide assessment, consultation and psychological therapy for adults with complex and enduring mental health difficulties under the Community and Recovery Care Group. The Team offers a range of very high quality therapeutic interventions and the post holder will be a member of a Team that delivers both individual and group work. The Team is looking for a self-motivated, energetic and engaged therapist, who will contribute to the delivery of individual and group based programmes with us. The Team is currently expanding its provision of group therapy and a Group Therapy qualification or training in Mentalisation Base Therapy (MBT) would be an advantage. The Team works collaboratively with the locality Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and there will be development opportunities to help support psychological practice within the community team through consultation and supervision. The post-holder will receive regular supervision and ongoing support in addition to annual appraisal and development review. This is a demanding role and the post holder will need to have solid and confirmed experience of working within Secondary Care services. The service is committed to implementing NICE Guidelines and ensuring evidence-based practice is observed. All Team practitioners are committed to continued Service audit and integrating patient reported outcome measures into their practice. The post holder should have experience of using psychometric assessment tools, including evaluating group based outcomes. Applicants must hold current registration (i.e. HCPC, UKCP, BPC or BABCP).
