Job Description

2 Full Time Posts- 11 PA's + 1 temporary SPA
£79,860-£ Apply per annum
We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrists with experience in working with young people who have mental health difficulties, to work within a substantial and experienced multidisciplinary team to provide Tier 4 Specialist Adolescent Mental Health Services to Greater Manchester.
Each post is intended as full time post, offering 11 PAs with an additional temporary SPA for service development and transformation, which will remain under regular review. We would welcome applicants who wish to work flexibly as part time or proposing job-sharing arrangements. These are replacement posts based at Prestwich within Junction 17, in addition to the existing 2 whole time consultant input across the established Tier 4 Adolescent service at GMMH.
If you are at the beginning of your Consultant career, GMMH Trust aims to support your career development and transition to consultant role with a mentor, offering additional flexibility for you to complete research already started, or support you to develop new research ideas and you will be supported to gain the skills to become a Consultant Trainer.
If you are an established Consultant looking for a post in a new area or to expand your skill set, we provide an exceptionally wide range of specialist experience across the Specialist Services network and the wider trust; good support for continuing career development in an active research and teaching environment; opportunities to develop management expertise and excellent support for CPD.
If you are looking for job flexibility we have significant experience in designing part-time and flexible posts. All job plans can be tailored to meet individual needs and in line with demands of the service, but also have a consistent design across the service and across specialties.
The overall split of the programmed activities is 8.5 to be devoted to direct clinical care within Junction 17, recognizing the clinical acuity and need for cross cover with co-consultant, and 2.5 to supporting professional activities (as recommended by the Royal College of Psychiatrists). Each post offers one additional SPA to enable active involvement in service development and transformation activities at an exciting time for the CAMHS services in Greater Manchester, where new initiatives are being developed for Children and Young people with mental health difficulties. The additional SPA will remain under regular review within job planning, commensurate with responsibilities accepted by each post holder.
