Job Description

Fixed Term - 16 months (June 2020 to September 2021 inclusive)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Band 6 dietitianto join our adult inherited metabolic diseases (IMD) team to cover a secondment.

The successful candidate will join our adult IMD team who are responsible for the management of patients with IMD across the South East. The team consists of two consultants, a nurse, three dietitians and a dietetic assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members to manage the dietary needs of complex IMD patients.

You will need experience of a range of dietetic specialities and excellent clinical knowledge. Experience of working in IMD is an advantage but not essential. You will need to be organised and meticulous to ensure that you can manage the unpredictable nature of this patient caseload.

The important role of nutrition is valued and well recognised by the teams at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. We are part of a large Academic Health Sciences Centre together with King's College London and the South London and Maudsley and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians and leading researchers in the Trust and at King's College, London.

The successful post holder will be joining a team of over 100 dietitians working across Guy's, St Thomas', Evelina London, Lambeth and Southwark community services. The department has a strong commitment to research and teaching.
