Job Description

Senior Medical Scientist (Point of Care Co-Ordinator), required by TTM Healthcare, on behalf of a prestigious private hospital, based in South Dublin. 

The Senior Medical Scientist (Point of Care Co-Ordinator) will be based in the Biochemistry department, and will be assisting in the expansion and co-ordination of the Point of Care Testing (POCT) programme in the hospital.

Duties will include but are not limited to: assisting in writing, maintaining and enforcing procedures relating to POCT and its related testing equipment, applying and implementing operational procedures up to “best practice” standard in order to optimise use of resources, assisting in the implementation of a quality management programme that is patient centred and which measures and audits performance and client satisfaction and be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and oversight of POCT in the association with the Laboratory Manager.

You will also be required to perform scientific work, as determined by the Laboratory Manager, participating if required in the on call rota.

This is a full-time, permanent role with competitve salary and excellent benefits offered to the selected candidate.

Key Requirements:
• BSc and MSc in Biomedical Science - only ACSLM/CORU approved degrees can be considered
• FACSLM membership or be eligible for membership
• Some experience in POCT essential
• Relevant post-qualification experience (minimum 3-4 years)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Understand quality control criteria
