Kent & Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust is a specialist mental health trust situated within the pleasant surroundings and open countryside of Kent. There are excellent links and easy access to both London and the Continent.

The trust is further expanding its specialist perinatal mental health service. We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to work within the new specialist multi-disciplinary, Mother and Infant Mental Health Service (MIMHS) across Kent and Medway. This post will enhance the existing Psychology provision for the service.

The successful candidate will provide specialist psychological services to mothers, infants and families during the perinatal period. Delivering specialist psychological assessment, therapy, advice, supervision and consultation as required. The role will include the active involvement in the multi-disciplinary development of the specialist Community perinatal mental health service. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. The post-holder may work in various settings including primary\/secondary care community venues such as GP practices, maternity units, Children's Centres, client's homes and inpatient settings.

The post holder will hold a Postgraduate level training in psychological theory and practice, including specifically models of psychopathology, models of psychological therapy and lifespan development, in accordance with the requirements for one of the following: Professional accreditation\/registration with HPC, BABCP, UKCP or BACP, or be eligible for chartered membership of British Psychological Society as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.

This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
