Blood Sciences (Blood Transfusion)
Senior Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist - Section Manager
Bolton NHS Foundation Trust provide services across the north west side of the Greater Manchester area ranging from hospital services in Bolton to community services across Bolton, Salford, Ashton, Leigh and Wigan. Applications are invited from experienced; HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientists with an MSc Biomedical Science/MSc Clinical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience) for a full time Senior Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist (Section Manager) post in our busy Blood Transfusion Laboratory which forms part of a Blood Sciences Laboratory service at this busy District General Hospital.
The successful candidate will join our friendly team of experienced Healthcare Scientists and support staff and take a leading role in the day to day running of the Transfusion Laboratory, supervision, training and competency assessment of laboratory staff and quality management according to MHRA Blood Safety & Quality Regulations and UKAS standards. The successful candidate will be part of the Hospital Transfusion Team/Committee and work across the laboratory/clinical interface.
The laboratory is well equipped (Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics Vision analysers and manual Biovue), fully computerised (Clinisys LabCentre system), fully UKAS accredited and IBMS approved for training.
