Job Description

Do you want to be part of an innovative and agile Children and Young People's Therapy service committed to delivering high quality care? We are looking to recruit Occupational Therapists to join our well-established Children's Occupational Therapy team.

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides integrated OT, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy Services for families across the county. Our service is jointly commissioned by health and education, allowing us to provide a seamless pathway of care from early years through to schools, specialist provisions and further education settings.

We are currently introducing an exciting new service delivery model, based upon a 3 tier model, with provision at Universal, Targeted and Specialist tiers. Hertfordshire is amongst the country's first community providers to introduce a 3 Tier model across its Children's OT service. You will work with children and young people from 0-25 in mainstream settings, specialist schools, pre-school settings and clinics.

Our integrated service provides opportunities for collaborative working, joint training and shared learning amongst each profession. We work closely with colleagues in education with well-established relationships.

We are seeking to recruit a band 6 Children's Occupational Therapist to be based at Bull Plain Clinic, Hertford.

The successful applicant will be expected to hold an integrated 0-25 years caseload, providing a service which meets both the health and social care Occupational Therapy needs of CYP, providing interventions in a variety of settings such as homes, schools and clinics.

Ideally candidates should have post graduate experience/training in assessment and treatment using neurodevelopmental and/or sensory treatment and also some knowledge on housing adaptations. However support, mentoring and further training will be provided to meet the individual needs of practitioners in areas where further up skilling and development is required.

The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic and motivated. Good communication, clinical reasoning and organisational skills are essential. You must be a team player but be able to work autonomously and have the ability to champion the needs of your patients.

If you are keen to be part of our well established and professional therapy team, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Liesl Salters Brown(Clinical Lead, Occupational Therapist) on Applyfor an informal chat and further details about this opportunity.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment and a maximum payment (pro rata where applicable).

We will communicate any interview arrangements with applicants via e-mail so it is advisable that you check the email address you give on your application on a regular basis.

All new appointments (excluding all Medical & Dental doctors) are subject to 6 months' probation period.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

In submitting an application form, you authorise Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Electronic Staff Record Inter Authority Transfer process should you be appointed to the post.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. Non-EEA applicants may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA applicant is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT). The UK Border Agency requires employers to complete this test for jobs which are not on the shortage occupation list to show that no suitably qualified EU or EEA worker can fill the post. As well as the RLMT, we have to meet other criteria such as salary thresholds and age restrictions before sponsorship can be sought. Please refer to https:// Apply/ for further information.
