Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Psychologist to join the Crisis Services in Teesside. You will be joining the MDT to lead crisis services across Teesside. The successful candidate will be an active member of the leadership team alongside the service manager, team managers, advance nurse practitioners and consultant psychiatrists. Your role will include supporting the Crisis Services in developing their psychological skills, knowledge and attitudes. You will achieve this through a range of supervisory, consultative, and service development and improvement interventions. It will be expected that you will have specific experience working in this area and knowledge and experience in trauma informed care. You will have key working relationships with colleagues working across AMH service in Teesside.

Candidates should be significantly experienced clinicians with excellent interdisciplinary working skills and interested in developing and delivering an innovative service. A proven track record of clinical leadership and supervisory experience in the field of Adult Mental Health is essential. Direct psychological therapy will not be a large or primary part of your role. Applicants need to be motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and resilient. You will need at least 3 years post qualification experience. Knowledge and experience of working with people with adults with complex mental health issues is essential. Team work is an important element of the job and you will need to demonstrate working effectively in a team and offering supervision to other professionals.

The nature of the role means that driving will be essential. Work base will flexible across the Tees area.

You will be required to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist. The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development and we have an excellent track record for developing our psychology workforce. There are also strong links to the local D.Clin.Psy. Programmes as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision.
