Job Description

King’s Health Partners is one of only six Academic Health Science Centres (AHSCs) in England and is a partnership between King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trusts. Since coming together in 2009, King’s Health Partners has sought to combine our collective strength to achieve excellence, and to improve health and well-being, locally and globally.

Our mission is simple: as an academic health sciences centre we are here to translate cutting-edge research and existing best practice into excellent patient care through world-class education and training.

We have an exciting opportunity for a capable and experienced executive assistant to provide support across both the KHP Neurosciences institute and KHP Haematology institute programmes.

The King’s Health Partners Haematology Institute and Clinical Academic Network brings together our strengths in clinical service, research, and education to deliver exceptional outcomes for our patients. We will develop cures and preventative strategies through discovery science platforms so that future generations do not have to face lives with these diseases - from blood cancers and haemoglobinopathies, such as sickle cell disease and thalassemia, to haemophilia.

As well as providing outstanding specialist care for such diseases, we will continue to use our nationally and internationally recognised expertise in key processes such as transfusion, bleeding, and clotting, to underpin and support the work of many other departments and services throughout the health and care system.

King’s Health Partners Neurosciences has major ambitions to improve the care and outcomes of people with conditions affecting the nervous system, through innovation in clinical services, research and education. We undertake world-leading scientific research in many areas, including: development of the brain and nervous system; later life neurodegeneration and dementia; and common disorders such as headache, epilepsy and Parkinson’s Disease.

The post holder will provide and contribute to a comprehensive and high-quality administrative support service to these two institute programmes.

The post holder primarily provides a comprehensive Executive Assistant and PA service to the Programme Directors, along with supporting the wider programme teams as and when required. He/she will ensure the smooth running of the team office and effective internal and external liaisons to contribute to the successful running of King’s Health Partners Institute programmes as a whole.

The Executive Assistant will report directly to the King’s Health Partners Haematology Institute Programme Director and King’s Health Partners Neurosciences Programme Director.
