Job Description

The Integrated Community Paediatric Service is seeking to appoint a Support Medical Secretary to work within the Correspondence Team to support the delivery of a very busy comprehensive service, providing secretarial support for Consultants and Advanced Nurse Practitioners, with the focus being on audio typing of clinical correspondence.

It is desirable to have previous medical secretarial experience and a good knowledge of medical terminology. You must be able to prioritise and manage own workload to meet tight deadlines as there is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) around clinical correspondence.

You will need to be flexible and willing to cover Senior Medical Secretary colleagues at times of leave etc to ensure department targets are maintained.
The successful candidate will need to work independently and as part of a team with support from Senior Medical Secretaries, with excellent communication and organisational skills being able to process a high volume of clinical correspondence each day to ensure the team complies with the KPI detailed above.
This team is currently based at Breightmet Health Centre with the clinicians delivering clinics across a number of venues in the Bolton area.
