The evolution of a therapeutic approach to staffing has led to a number of new positions which will enhance and shape care provision through a dynamic, effective and exciting multidisciplinary model. Kent and Medway's Older Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient wards provide excellent environments for the delivery of numerous specialist assessments, treatments and interventions. The integration of psychological, occupational, nursing and medical staff working in tandem will also cultivate an atmosphere of learning for the whole team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Sevenscore Ward based at Thanet Mental Health Unit. This inpatient setting provides a 24-hour service, with a three-shift system in operation and all staff are expected to work the full rotation of days and nights.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team, working with older adults who have a wide range of mental health needs and a primary diagnosis of dementia. You will enjoy working at a challenging pace, and will be self-motivated, proactive, flexible and enthusiastic. You will need to be able to function as part of a team and have an interest in initiating therapeutic engagement with the service users. Your approach must be person-centred, placing the patient at the centre of all decision making.
