Senior Biomedical Scientist in Histopathology
A Biomedical Scientist with substantial experience in Histopathology, within Liver Pathology, at the Institute of Liver Studies, Kings College Hospital, London.
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative, successful university teaching hospital based in South East London and this is a time of rapid and significant change. This is an exciting opportunity for an established professional self-starter.
The Institute of Liver Studies at King’s encompasses clinical service and academic activities (undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and overlapping research) in adult and paediatric hepatology, hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation. It was established in 1966 and is the largest specialist centre in Europe for the treatment of Liver disease. Patients both from the UK and abroad are admitted for treatment.
The specialised Histopathology service is a major subdivision of the specialist Liver Pathology Services. The Biomedical Scientist will be part of a team of scientific staff involved in the delivery of the Histopathology service. The post holder shall be actively involved in the daily supervision of junior staff and entering data for scorecards and towards quality processes in the lab of workload figures, processing and staining logs, validation, verification and acceptance testing of reagents and antibodies.
An HCPC registered postgraduate in Biomedical Science with substantial experience in Histopathology is essential. Experience in the use of LIMS, databases and power-point is desirable.
