We are looking for two enthusiastic and committed clinical/counselling psychologists or psychotherapists (psychoanalytic, CBT, Systemic, Arts) to join our well established and dynamic service in adult mental health for people who live in Folkestone, Dover, Deal and the countryside surrounding areas, in Kent. We have two part-time posts (30 hours/week each).
The post holder will be based at Ash Eton (Folkestone) or Coleman House (Dover), within a Psychological Therapies service which includes psychological clinicians of several disciplines and trainees. The South Kent Coast Secondary Care Psychological Therapies service works closely and in collaboration with the Shepway Community Mental Health Team and the Dover/Deal Community Mental Health Team to provide a comprehensive service to adults with complex and longstanding mental health conditions and emotional difficulties.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in providing assessment and treatment (individual and group), participating in multidisciplinary staff development and supervision, enhancing the provision of psychological therapies for adult mental health, service development and evaluation, and a take part in a monthly programme of continuing professional development.
The post holder will join a supportive psychological therapies service staffed with 9 clinicians representing clinical psychology, psychoanalytic and CBT psychotherapy, and an assistant psychologist. We have strong links with the South Thames Clinical Psychology Training Centre in Tunbridge Wells, attached to Christ Church University in Canterbury and our service offers clinical placements for both first and third year trainees. These links also provide access to a wide variety of post-qualification training courses and events.
This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
Employment in this post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service.
To deliver an effective service it is essential that you are able to travel between bases in a timely manner. A car is not essential but desirable.
