Job Description

The commitment of our 17,100 staff is key to our success. We are one of the largest local employers and we aim to develop and support all our staff so they are able to deliver high quality, safe and efficient care. The 2018 NHS staff survey results show that we have one of the most engaged and motivated workforces in the NHS. We know this has a positive impact on the care provided to our patients.

Do you want to be a part of UK's most busy and successful foundation trusts?
Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a unique and dynamic environment?
We are one of the largest cardiovascular units in the country and we are looking for an experienced, friendly, enthusiastic Radiographer to work 37.5 hours per week. Our department is based at St Thomas' hospital, which is a large NHS teaching hospital in a great central location next to the London Eye, Palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. The post provides an exciting opportunity to gain new skills. GSTT is part of Kings Health Partners Cardiovascular, which is working in partnership with the cardiovascular department at Kings College Hospital, London, to jointly improve the services we can offer to patients within South East London.
We have 5 state of the art cardiac catheter laboratories, one of which is a dedicated cardiovascular interventional lab. The successful candidate will be joining us during an exciting time as we are currently installing a brand new lab to continue to improve and expand our services. You will take part in specialist cardiac interventions such as TAVIs, TMVIs, CTOs, PFOs, complex device implantations, electrophysiology studies, vascular interventional procedures and complex cases within the Hybrid lab. You will carry out the adult clinical workload from Guys and St Thomas' and also be involved with internationally recognized research work at the cutting edge of cardiology and cardiovascular imaging.
We will give you the opportunity to participate in live study days representing our Trust. Catheter lab experience is essential as is a 'can do' attitude. You will need the ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach to working time. A sympathetic and caring approach is important and the ability to work within a team is essential. There is an expectation that you will be able to take part in the out-of-hours on call acute service and shifts.
We actively support and encourage radiographers in their career development and are committed to providing increased opportunities to widen specialist skills. CPD and audit are actively encouraged in our department and teaching is supported. Applicants must be HCPC registered prior to interview.
Applicants that have applied within the last 3 months for this position, do not need to apply.
Closing Date: 24th October 2019 at Midnight
