An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with us in a unique role delivering evidence informed rehabilitation intervention. The Evelina REACH service is a regionally and nationally visible service delivering highly specialist assessment and evidence informed intensive rehabilitation for children who predominantly have a diagnosis of hemiplegia.
You will be energetic, motivated and passionate about delivery of evidence informed practice. In this role you will work in a team delivering protocol driven rehabilitation. You will have the ability to critically appraise literature in the field of occupational therapy and use this knowledge to formulate your clinical care.
The team culture for this service is one of supporting open and transparent communication and shared learning, with reflective practice embedded. You will have experience of administering standardised assessment and formulating goal-directed intervention. In this role you will provide specialist assessment, advice and implement evidence informed rehabilitation in partnership with parents, young people and community-based therapists. You will support children to work towards meaningful goals focusing on functional skills and independence in areas of self-care, school work and leisure/play, alongside their families and local teams. The Evelina REACH team are proactive and responsive and you will contribute to future service developments.
There will be opportunities to develop education regionally across our network and take an active role in stakeholder engagement activities. You will be supervised by clinical specialist staff within the paediatric occupational therapy team, and supported by the clinical lead for paediatric Occupational Therapy.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will also be child and family focussed, and adaptable to meet the child's individual therapy needs. You will need to be able to work flexibly to support colleagues when required.
There is an expectation of participation in departmental audits or research projects. There is also the opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills through participation in team and hospital wide continuing professional development programmes, supervision of junior staff members and students, appraisal, in-service training and joint working.
