Job Description

KMPT is creating an environment for equal opportunities for all, where we can ALL be ourselves.

It's an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection in January 2019!

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 OT to join the team. OT services are being developed across KMPT with the purpose of ensuring individuals have equitable access to OT and recovery focused interventions.

You will be involved in carrying out occupationally focused assessments and planning and delivering interventions, both with individuals, their carers and to groups, to facilitate personal recovery, restoration of well being and timely discharge.

You will need to be clinically confident and competent in working with individuals in community settings and be able to work effectively in both the 'OT Team' and as part of the multi disciplinary team. You should have a collaborative and enthusiastic style, as well as a passion and commitment to develop and promote recovery orientated practice.

This is an interesting time to join when services are being redesigned, so foresight and the desire to make a difference are essential. This post requires that you are a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.

You will benefit from encouragement to continue to develop your own specialist skills, knowledge and competence through participation, reflection, supervision and training and your development will be guided using appraisal and the KSF framework.
This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
Employment in this post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

To deliver an effective service it is essential that you are able to travel between bases in a timely manner.
KMPT Allied Health Professionals launched their first AHP Strategy in 2018 focused on enabling independence, transforming transitions and influencing health and wellbeing in order to help individuals rebuild their lives.
Previous applicants need not apply.
