Job Description

Applications are invited for one 1.0 WTE consultant post based in Paediatric Dentistry at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent post.

The successful candidate will have established leadership and team-working qualities and will be expected to play an active role in the development, provision and delivery of oral health care to a wide range of patients who require paediatric dentistry. Together with departmental colleagues they will be expected to forge links with other departments within the Trust and with external agencies to develop appropriate services for patients with complex needs. In addition they will be required to contribute to the leadership of the Department whilst having a commitment to teaching and training of junior staff. They will also be expected to contribute to continuing education, clinical governance, audit and research. Major areas of paediatric dentistry at King’s include the provision of dental treatment under day stay general anaesthesia for patients with complex disabilities, provision of intravenous sedation, oral health care to medically compromised patients including those with mental health issues. You must have full registration with the General Dental Council and be eligible for appointment as a Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry by being on the Specialist list in Paediatric Dentistry.
