Job Description

KMPT is creating an environment for equal opportunities for all, where we can ALL be ourselves.

It's an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection in January 2019!
A rare opportunity has arisen for a professionally registered Psychotherapist to join the team delivering specialist treatment for adults with personality disorders. We are keen to recruit therapists experienced in conducting psychotherapy groups for people with severe and complex personality disorder. Ideally you will also have experience of working within a therapeutic community.
The Brenchley Unit is an established therapeutic community (TC) and an accredited member of the Community of Communities. The service was Highly Commended in last year's national Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards. This is an opportunity to join a supportive and enthusiastic team, proven to provide effective and life changing treatment for people with complex personality disorders.
This role will involve working closely with CMHTs to advise on appropriate referrals, offering assessment and out-patient psychodynamic psychotherapy groups, which is the initial treatment phase before service users join the TC. You will also have a role in offering small group psychotherapy in the TC and attending community meetings.
You will be committed to the TC values. You will be confident with managing a caseload of complex patients who may present with significant risk. You will have the ability to organise and plan your workload so that priorities are attended to and quality standards are maintained.
You will be working within a multi-disciplinary service which includes a Consultant Psychotherapist, Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Group Analysts, Psychodrama Therapist and Clinical Psychologist offering exciting opportunities for creative work. The Trust has a second therapeutic community in Folkestone and there will be opportunities for both teams to come together to share learning experiences and work together on service developments.
You will receive ongoing group clinical supervision and be part of a staff process group with the team as well as being offered professional support and development.
