An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with people who have a range of complex mental health issues, including psychosis, severe depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, and PTSD to join our Adult Mental Health Service. The post is a fixed term until July 2020 to cover maternity leave. The service is currently undergoing a process of changing our way of working to a locality model and the impact of this will be a change to the post, leading to working into one locality team and inputting to a centralised Psychological Therapies hub.
The postholder will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team who offer a range of therapies and approaches. They will provide a qualified clinical psychology service providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. They will be committed to the principles of recovery, have effective interpersonal and time management skills as well as being a responsive and motivated team player.
A key role will be carrying out mental health and psychological assessments, developing formulations and implementing evidence based interventions in line with NICE guidance. The person will be expected to provide individual and group based work and have a role in the development and supervision of non-psychological staff.
The successful applicant will have Doctoral level training in clinical psychology and be HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist.
The successful candidates will receive management supervision from the team manager and clinical supervision from a Senior Clinical Psychologist.
