Compass Associates are working with a highly regarded private care provider that operates a portfolio of care homes across the

North. The Client are now looking for an RGN / RMN qualified Clinical Lead for a new unit which is due to be added to a small residential home in the Sunderland.  This Homes provide General Residential & Dementia Elderly Care currently but are looking to add a new innovative unit for Dementia nursing. The successful candidate will be a dementia specialist with good clinical knowledge & experience to manager the new 18 bedded unit.     


This Care provider has one of the best salary structures in the area as well as one of the best induction processes.  The Home Manager is well settled so the Home is stable and they are now looking to implement a strong clinical team to work alongside her to provide good care with a delivery of kindness with full autonomy.      


The key responsibilities of our Deputy Manager include:

Be responsible for monitoring standards of care delivered by qualified and unqualified care staff by observation and direct involvement, ensuring that all residents receive quality person centred care and that care plans are fully maintained

Support the Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures and business objectives

Preparing the staff duty rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times

Instructing staff in safe systems of work, fire safety and evacuation procedures, as well as inducting new staff

Be responsible for monitoring each resident's state of wellbeing and being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, updating to reflect new needs

Act as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their well-being, acting upon requests and ensuring concerns or complaints are dealt with appropriately

Liaise with the Home Manager across the range of operational activity to be able to assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager's scheduled and unscheduled absences, including marketing of the Home to existing and potential residents and relatives

Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues


Passion for Elderly care

Extensive leadership experience

Experience in running a Nursing homes

Exposure to safeguarding's & CQC regulations

Ability to market and establish relationships in the local community

RGN / RMN qualified

Active NMC Pin



This role is based in Sunderland and is commutable from Newcastle, North Shields, Hartlepool, Consett, Gateshead, Middlesbrough & Durham.

My client is seeking an experienced Nurse Qualified Clinical Lead to help the Home Manager bring this home to “Outstanding” on CQC following the commissioning of a luxurious new unit.   The candidate would have full autonomy for their supernumerary hours within the Elderly Nursing unit.  This provider wants someone who enjoys a challenge and is confident they can go to the home and assist the manager in recruitment & management of the new unit in exchange they are offering a payrate of £21.50ph for 38.5 to 44 hours.
