An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Training Officer to join the Clinical Biochemistry department at Barts Health.

This post involves travel across the different hospitals at Barts Health.

Barts Health is the largest NHS organisation in England, and our hospitals cover large areas of East London. Our hospitals are Barts in the City of London, The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, The London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green, Mile End Hospital, Newham University Hospital near Plaistow and Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Biomedical Scientist band 7 Training Officer to join one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and innovative service. The Blood Sciences department has highly regarded Pathology services and has recently had significant investment in equipment and LIMS. Barts Health Pathology is an IBMS approved training laboratory.

The successful candidate will be HCPC registered and have an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent experience.

The Department offers a wide range of equipment to include tracked pre-analytics, LCMS-MS, HPLC, AAS, semi-automated protein electrophoresis and remote access POCT.

As a Training Officer, the post holder must be able to demonstrate proficiency and competence with the different training schemes and levels of training required by the different grades of staff within the department.

We are looking for a strong team player with a positive attitude to working in a flexible manner, committed to supporting the clinical services of the Trust and meeting the needs of our patients by participating in the extended day, weekend and bank holiday rosters.
