Research and Innovation is a core component of Medway NHS Foundation Trust activity and is key to making advancements in patient care. At Medway NHS Foundation Trust we continually strive to ensure that our patients are identified and offered early participation in suitable research as part of their treatment and care choice.
The Pharmacy Clinical Trials team is well-established as part of the research and innovation team and helps facilitate in clinical trials in haematology, oncology and a number of other specialist areas including cardiology, respiratory, anaesthetic medicine, neonate and foetal medicine.
We are recruiting for a talented and self-motivated band 8a pharmacist to lead the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Medway NHS Foundation. Applicants are required to have previous clinical trials experience, diploma level clinical pharmacy experience and previous experience working in haematology, oncology and aseptic services
You will be responsible for the setup, maintenance and delivery of the clinical trials service within the Pharmacy service including the aseptic Services, ensuring maximum patient safety and compliance with Good Clinical Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice. You will provide operational support in the pharmacy aseptic unit, in particular for product approval of aseptic compounded products. You will also provide clinical support to the pharmacy cancer services team and participate in the ward clinical pharmacy services.
You will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, innovative and committed to providing the highest quality of research and care for patients recruited to clinical trials. You will need an ability to develop effective working relationships, to challenge and to prioritise your own work. You will be required to be flexible, reliable and able to work on your own initiative to provide an efficient service to a growing research environment.
The successful candidate will manage the clinical trials team in aseptic services to ensure the provision of a robust and efficient service for the delivery of quality and innovative research
