Job overview Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). The Allington Centre is a 20 bed low secure inpatient service for forensic services. We specialise in the assessment and treatment of adults with complex mental health needs, who require care in a low secure setting, in response to offending, risky and/or challenging behaviours. The ward includes a high dependency area of five beds for the assessment and treatment of those exhibiting disturbed behaviour. There is also a 15-bedded area (LSU) focusing on assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. This can be a challenging, yet rewarding environment and requires excellent organisation skills and the ability to use your initiative. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank you'll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week. Where you will be working Location: Bosbury, Hereford, Herefordshire,HR8 1HB You will be working at Stanley House, a service which offers a multidisciplinary approach to its long term care provision and provides the specialised care and expert therapeutic interventions. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will support and enable residents to undergo reviews of their specific and/or changing needs. Stanley House offers therapies and activities which include Physiotherapy and Art therapy and receives input from a Professor in Neuropsychiatry and monthly specialist GP clinics. Residents at Stanley House have varying needs, from being able to manage some of their own needs, to being fully reliant. This includes personal care involving washing, dressing, shaving and helping with continence needs. Helping residents to eat is also a big part of the daily routine. End-of-life care is also provided to enable residents to stay in the comfort and familiar surroundings at Stanley House, where their family can also be supported. There's plenty of fun to be had too, through supporting residents to take part in regular communal activities, from providing wheelchair and walking assistance, to afternoons of laugher with bouncy castles, family fun days and trips to the local café, shops and bowling. Where you will be working: Location: Farndon Rd, Newark NG24 4SW The Farndon Unit is a purpose-built hospital which provides services across low secure, rehabilitation and acute inpatient settings for women with Mental Health and personality disorder diagnoses. Our combination of low secure wards and a rehabilitation ward area (also within the low secure perimeter) provide a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation prior to discharge.
