Are you a skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Practitioner looking for a dynamic new challenge? Join a dedicated orthopaedic team in Guernsey as a Band 5 Senior Orthopaedic Practitioner , where your expertise will play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in one of the most picturesque parts of the UK while gaining extensive clinical experience across a range of orthopaedic specialisms.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a diverse caseload of orthopaedic patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care .

* Oversee casting services, including complex applications such as scoliosis jackets and hip spicas .

* Interpret X-rays to support appropriate cast and splint application.

* Provide safe mobilisation support for patients with casts and refer to physiotherapy when necessary.

* Carry out wound care, clip/suture removal , and monitor for signs of infection under casts.

* Maintain equipment within the Plaster Room and Fracture Clinic to ensure functionality and compliance.

* Remove K-wires and external fixators following appropriate training.

* Deliver specialised casting services for diabetic patients on a weekly basis.

* Guide and mentor nursing staff on evidence-based plastering and splinting practices.

* Chaperone patients during clinic operations and assist as required.

* Adhere to infection control and HSC policies to ensure high standards of clinical safety.

* Promote patient dignity and privacy throughout all clinical interactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

* Proven experience in orthopaedic or musculoskeletal healthcare settings.

* Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and X-ray interpretation .

* Comfortable with casting techniques and wound care procedures .

* Collaborative, compassionate, and skilled at working within a multidisciplinary team.

* Able to take initiative in managing complex and specialist procedures.
