Job Description
Role: Senior Pharmacy Technician
Site: The Lister Hospital, London
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift pattern: 8.30am to 4.30, 9am to 5pm and also 11am to 7pm. The late shift and Saturdays will be a requirement for all applicants and usually works out a 1 in 3 pattern. We also open on Bank Holidays (again on a rota basis)

We're looking for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at The Lister Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.
The Lister Hospital, located in Chelsea has consistently provided care and treatment in London for over 30 years. We offer access to leading consultants from London's top teaching hospitals and contemporary treatment, with several highly specialised units including fertility, gastroenterology medicine and orthopaedics and surgery. With 60 beds across three floors, we offer a specialised service, bespoke to our patient's needs. Our six-bed critical care unit provides dedicated specialised care to seriously ill patients with a range of surgical or medical conditions.
Within the Pharmacy department there is a small team of 8 who cover many areas for the hospital. It has a high turn over of outpatient requirements covering Surgical. ITU, Medical, Urgent Care and also the Lister Fertility Clinic.
This role is a great development opportunity for someone from a retail or mixture with hospital background as you will get the opportunity to learn the cross functions of the different areas and be offered the chance to additional training and develop your career. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who displays positivity and leadership within a team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meets the needs of all service uses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be a role model supporting your peers whilst actively promoting the role of pharmacy technicians
- Together with senior technical team, ensure the smooth day to day running of dispensaries and ward technical services
- Be accurate in your working with a good attention to detail and have good communication skills
- Assist with supervision, training and development of pharmacy and other MDT staff
- Participate in quality projects and service development
Assist in staff appraisal system including monthly one to ones
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
- Hospital Experience would be a plus
- ACT and/or MMT accreditation is desirable
- Good spoken and written English.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and in an organised manner under pressure
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands
