Role: Pharmacy Assistant
Site: The Princess Grace Hospital, London
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Permanent

We're looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at The Princess Grace Hospital, currently rated "Good" by the CQC.As one of HCA Healthcare UK's leading Surgical centres we're incredibly passionate about providing the best possible care to our patients through constant innovation. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will have the opportunity to gain entry into the world of Pharmacy. As a part of this role, the post holder will also be able to attain the NVQ level 2 qualification. This role would suit anyone with the desire to work in pharmacy. All you need is the drive, dedication and transferable skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
You will contribute to the day to day running of the Pharmacy, supporting the operational management of the core pharmacy services, including dispensary, stock control and management, medicines distribution, stock top-up, requisitions and revenue capture. You will report to the Senior Pharmacy Technician.To function as part of the pharmacy team in assisting the Lead Pharmacy Technician and Senior Pharmacy Technicians, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the dispensary is maintained at a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the working day.
- Participating in the dispensing processes for inpatients and outpatients.
- Participating in the revenue capture processes associated with medicine usage.
- Providing quality customer service when dealing directly with pharmacy patients, nurses, doctors and other customers and when answering the telephone.
- Undertaking expiry date checks of pharmacy stock to minimise drug wastage.
- Participating in regular pharmacy stock cycle counts as determined by the Lead Pharmacy Technician.
- To accurately check off deliveries against delivery notes, process claims for missing/incorrect items and returns.
- Ensuring the appropriate and prompt storage of medicines received into the pharmacy department.
- Ensuring the department is fully equipped with consumable items for dispensing and administration.
- Ensuring effective communication of any matters related to pharmacy stock.
