Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway.

Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group. It has 77 beds over seven wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntington's and Dementia, along with a growing outpatient therapy service.

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic part-time Occupational Therapist to join our therapy team on a fast-paced, 10-bed adult acute ward.

Preferred working days: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

The role will involve completing assessments, developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans, facilitating group and 1:1 work, facilitating graded exposure, educating on coping strategies, completing community signposting and contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings. You will be working alongside an occupational therapy assistant and may be required to provide supervision to occupational therapy staff.

Although you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, comprising of nurses, healthcare assistants, psychiatrists and a specialty doctor, a large part of the role will also involve autonomous working. You will be expected to apply your occupational therapy skills, complete thorough risk assessments and use evidence-practice to guide your therapeutic interventions.

Previous experience working in mental health is essential for this post.

The post holder must have a degree in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered.
