Job Description
Are you an Occupational Therapist who would like to explore a rewarding career experience?
About Us
Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.
Your Role
Service Line: Neurorehabilitation
Summary of the site: Cygnet Pindar House is our 22 bed Neuropsychiatric care and treatment service for men affected by acquired brain injuries. It is a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease like Huntington's Disease, a caring and longer term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms. The service accepts unplanned, often urgent admissions where a service user requires a safe place to start treatment at the earliest possible time as well as planned admissions.
The service is a modern purpose-built facility, designed specifically to provide a clinically-led evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutic rich environment to engage the men in our care and offer them the opportunity to mmaximise their independence.
Our in-house Neuropsychiatry interdisciplinary team are able to support those with complex physical health needs and we have en-suite bedrooms located on the ground floor for men with mobility impairments.
Our person-centred approach puts the individual at the centre of their care and discharge planning. The service offers a wide range of activities and facilities to promote independent function. Positive behaviour goals are focused on discharge planning to support service users to return to community living - either with support or independently.
You will be the Band 6 Occupational Therapist onsite, and will be supported by a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, who you will supervise.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
