Job Description
Role: Senior Occupational Therapist
Location: Dublin
Salary: €61,424 - €72,325
Job Type: Full Time
Contract: 12 Mt Contract
Start date: Immediate start date (pending pre-employment checks)
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver an effective and efficient Inpatient Occupational Therapy Service based on assessment of needs.
* Represent and promote Occupational Therapy within the hospital and provide educational sessions for both nursing and medical staff about the role of Occupational Therapy.
* Collaborate with the Allied Therapy Manager to scope and develop outpatient Occupational Therapy services.
* Administer the highest quality of service by identifying and implementing operational procedures in line with best practice standards.
* Stay updated with new developments, skills, and technology to ensure continuing competence in the role.
* Supervise, mentor, and support Staff Grade Occupational Therapists.
* Maintain professionalism, dedication, and punctuality at all times.
* Encourage professional development of team members through self-learning, formal courses, and in-service training.
Candidates must demonstrate the following competencies and knowledge:
* Proficiency in Cognitive Assessments.
* Competence in Functional Assessments.
* Ability to complete Home Assessments.
* Strong experience in discharge planning within the acute sector.
* Knowledge of older person community services.
* Experience with ADL equipment assessment and prescription.
* Proficiency in Pressure Care management.
* Competence in seating prescription and wheelchair assessments.
* Basic skills in upper and lower limb static splinting.
* Understanding of the referral process for community occupational therapy.
* Experience in Falls Risk Assessments and Interventions.
* Desirable experience in Paediatrics.
* Desirable experience with acute Neurological Patients.
The hours of work are at the discretion of the Allied Therapy Manager and in line with service needs, based on a 35-hour week.
Requirements:
* Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy
* CORU registered.
* AOTI membership is desirable but not essential.
* Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working as an Occupational Therapist in an acute adult hospital setting.
