Job Description

The salary for this permanent Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist job is £43,742 - £50,056 per annum.

Main Duties:

* Function as an independent speech and language therapist within a multidisciplinary team.

* Evaluate how an individual's communication affects their daily life and provide suitable interventions.

* Collaborate with the individual and their social network to address and resolve communication barriers.

* Conduct communication assessments and develop management and rehabilitation plans, consulting with specialists as needed.

* Deliver training to staff and the social networks of service users.

* Play a key role in the development and enhancement of services and organisational practices.

Requirements of the Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist:

* Possess a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

* Hold current registration with the HCPC.

* Have completed Dysphagia Competencies.

* Demonstrate specialist knowledge of speech and language therapy models and interventions in acquired brain injury (ABI), including social communication, cognitive communication, and communication partner training.

* Capable of managing complex dysphagia cases within an adult neurology caseload.

* Have at least 4 years of qualified experience, including handling complex case management.
