Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Home Treatment Team & Rapid Response Service

We are excited to invite applications for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established team at Little Brook Hospital, Dartford. Work directly with service users in their homes and communities, providing holistic and person-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions. Be part of a supportive and collaborative team, contributing to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality services.

We are looking for an OT with:
A strong commitment to community-based mental healthcare.
Excellent clinical skills and experience in assessment and intervention.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build rapport with service users.

Main duties of the job
- Working with service users referred to Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service.
- To provide short-term specific psychosocial interventions for those who would benefit from crisis interventions.
- To contribute to the planning and implementation of induction, training and education of students and staff.
- To contribute to the delivery of specialist/ professional training packages of in-service training and staff development when necessary.
- To provide effective supervision, support, and guidance for support /STR/ peer workers and any work delegated to them.
- Responsible for the delivery of individual care plans for a caseload.
- Expected to implement policies as directed by the trust/directorate for the department, ensuring awareness throughout the department.
- Knowledge and expertise in the application of relevant professional theoretical models, and approaches relevant to client groups.
- Communicate complex, sensitive, and emotional information using a variety of mediums; being able to adapt methods/style/approach as appropriate.
- The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

What is High Cost Area Allowance?
The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.
As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)

Training, qualifications and registration
Essential criteria
- A recognised OT professional qualification
- Registration with the HCPC
- Trained as a practice educator with experience managing learners in the work place
- Two or more years post qualified experience
- Registered member of the relevant professional body and / or special interest group
Essential criteria
- Post qualified experience within home treatment team
- Managing defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based practice, service user centred, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice
- Experience of being involved in service developments or audits
