Our client in Lancashire is looking for an Assistant Physio to join their team .

They are a small team of children and adult physiotherapists who serve clients all over the Northwest of England. They treat clients in their homes, nurseries, school, in clinic, and at various hydrotherapy pools all over the North West of England.
You will be a valued, essential member of staff to ensure the smooth running of the business.
The role of a Physiotherapy Assistant is to support the delivery of therapy services to clients within all areas of the business.
The Physiotherapy Assistant will work under the supervision of Registered Physiotherapists and will be responsible for an agreed specific caseload.
The Physiotherapy Assistant will be required to work in clinic, at various locations in the community e.g., school, nurseries, home visits and at various hydrotherapy locations. The Physiotherapy Assistant may provide initial developmental, rehabilitation assessments and notify senior staff there are any concerns. We operate a 6 day working service and therefore the role may include working Saturdays and evening therapy cover for the need of the service.
You will be required-
*To form professional relationships with clients and their relatives/carers, communicating with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture
*To report observations of client's general behaviour and ability to the registered Physiotherapist and MDT as appropriate.
*To be alert to the clients physical and emotional needs, employing interpersonal skills as appropriate, and reporting any concerns to relevant multidisciplinary team member as appropriate. * To provide clear demonstration and instruction to individuals/ groups of patients in the use of therapeutic activities and equipment.
*To liaise with outside agencies as appropriate in order to achieve therapeutic goals.
*To coordinate client flow and undertaking appropriate measurements and first line assessments where required both in person and from digital photographs such as range of movement measurements.
*In negotiation with the registered Physiotherapist to provide a range of therapeutic activities that instruct and guide the client to achieve personal goals e.g.: activities of daily living, physical compensatory or rehabilitative activities, appropriate exercises, gait re-education, developmental rehabilitation, and stairs assessments.
*To be responsible for a delegated aspects of clinical intervention
*To deliver and assist Physiotherapists in the rehabilitation of clients using a range of delegated exercises and manual physical skills, including the use of wheelchairs, lifting equipment, and hoists and functional tasks and purposeful activities chose to help improve specific physical and cognitive deficits.
*Obtaining information from clients during assessments regarding their interests, skills, and home circumstances and, in negotiation with the Physiotherapist, incorporate these into treatments.
*To encourage client and their carers in an active approach to regain and maintain personal independence. This requires empathy, sensitivity, and good interpersonal skills.
*To implement exercise programmes and treatments, as delegated by the Physiotherapist.
*To instruct clients and carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of physical therapy, mobility, and functional activities as directed by the Physiotherapists.
*To facilitate or support group activities with specific objectives as required, e.g. social orientation and inclusion, relaxation, energy conservation, massage, developmental groups, exercise groups
To use effective communication tools, verbal and non-verbal, to communicate treatment programmes to patients who may have barriers to understanding or communication, e.g.; learning difficulties, receptive and expressive language difficulties, blind, deaf, or who do not have English as a first language.
*To contribute to the development of client care by attending relevant team meetings, or other Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings, communicating on behalf of Physiotherapist regarding patients' performance, progress or service provision.
*To maintain accurate electronic records of work undertaken in line with the CSP codes of conduct for record keeping
