Chief Perfusionist

Cpl Healthcare is seeking applications for the prestigious role of Chief Perfusionist. This is a new role with a soon to be opened Cardiothoracic service at a private Cork hospital.

The successful candidate will be part of Ireland’s top private hospital network which includes two acute hospitals, a radiation oncology centre, two day-hospitals and three outpatient clinics located throughout the country. The network delivers the full range of healthcare specialties including cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic and spine, emergency and out-patient services.

This is a pivotal role where the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, oversight, and coordination of Perfusion Services, including clinical and operational activities, personnel, strategic planning, and fiscal activities for Perfusion Services within the expanded Cardiothoracic Surgical Program.

To be considered for the role, interested applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Be accredited and registered by the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland as a practising Clinical Perfusionist.
• Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
• Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Clinical Perfusionist.
• Have a strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary bypass techniques, equipment, and procedures.
• As there is a significant on-call element to the role, interested applicants must be available for this.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a Senior or Deputy Chief Perfusionist role.
• Qualifications or completed course in a Management related discipline.
• MSc in a related Healthcare area.
