Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Medical Scientist with expertise in Histology to join a busy service in South Dublin. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Histology and will be responsible for conducting a range of laboratory tests and procedures, performing complex analysis, and interpreting results. The role will involve supervising and training junior staff, ensuring that laboratory procedures are carried out safely and efficiently, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

* Holder of Bachelor's degree - At least 5 years' experience as a Basic Grade Medical Scientist or

* Holder of Master's degree - At least 2 years' experience as Senior Medical Scientist specifically in a working medical Histology laboratory

AND

* Candidates must be able to provide evidence that they are fully registered to practice as a Medical Scientist, by the state agency CORU.

Professional Experience:

* 5 years' experience specifically in a working medical Histology lab

* Extensive experience of scientific work in the Histology laboratory, embedding, microtomy (manual and automatic) and routine and special stains, and specifically in Dissection & Cut-Up
