As a Band 5 ODP at Kingston Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in the care of our patients. Your expertise will shine before, during, and after a wide spectrum of complex and innovative operations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Lead the planning and delivery of safe and effective care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

•Inspire and supervise a team of ODPs, ensuring the seamless operation of the department.

•Collaborate with top surgeons, anaesthetists, and healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

•Participate in pre-operative assessments, patient consent, and safety checks.

•Provide expert assistance during surgeries, ensuring a smooth flow of instruments and equipment.

•Be the guardian of patients' vital signs, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.

•Uphold the highest standards of infection control, maintaining a sterile and safe environment.

•Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, contributing to the continuum of care.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

•Diploma or degree in Operating Department Practice.

•Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

•A wealth of experience in a hospital setting, showcasing your leadership skills.

•In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.

•Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

•Thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage your time efficiently.

•Dedication to delivering patient-centred care.

•Embrace flexibility with open arms, ready to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
